Chakra series 6: Ajna, the third eye.

The Ajna chakra, is in the area of the third eye, which is found in the space between the eyebrows. It encompasses the pituitary gland, eyes, head, and lower part of the brain. An invisible yet powerful third eye, this is your center of intuition. A spiritual chakra, which means “beyond wisdom,” Ajna leads you to an inner knowledge that will guide you if you let it. An open sixth chakra can enable clairvoyance, telepathy, lucid dreaming, expanded imagination, and visualisation. Colour associated is indigo and the element of light.

Chakra series 5: Vishuddha, the throat chakra.

The Throat Chakra is associated with the colour bright blue. Blue energy is pure, soothing, calming, and healing and connects a person with the divine. When the energy of the Vishuddha Chakra is imbalanced, communication breaks down. We refuse to listen to our inner Self and to others. Others are unable to understand us and feelings of loneliness surround us. The element associated is sound.

Chakra series 4: Anahata, The heart chakra.

The heart chakra serves as our center of love for oneself and others, compassion, empathy and forgiveness. The anahata chakra is associated with unconditional love, compassion, and joy.

Anahata is associated with the element air. Air, like love, is within and all around us. We can embody this element by keeping our heart center open and our love free-flowing. The colour associated is green.

Chakra series 3: Manipura, the solar plexus chakra.

Fire is the main element of the solar plexus, or Manipura chakra. The element is meant to ignite your inner fire and strengthen your digestive fire. The colour of the Manipura chakra is bright yellow, like the sun.

The location of the solar plexus is around your navel area of the body near your upper abdomen and breastbone. Due to its location, it is also connected with the digestive system. This area of your navel must be open in order to feel the self-confidence and sense of purpose that you wish to achieve.

Chakra series 2: Svadhistana, the sacral chakra.

This chakra is associated with sensuality and creativity. The primary function of this energy center is pleasure and overall enjoyment of life. When this chakra is balanced and functioning properly, we can expect our relationship with ourselves and the world to feel harmonious, pleasureful, and nurturing.

The colour associated with the Sacral Chakra is Orange and the element associated with the Sacral Chakra is water.

Chakra series 1: Muladhara, the root chakra

The first chakra, Muladhara, is located at the base of the spine. “Muladhara” means root, and is associated with the earth element, linked to your ability to dig in and feel firmly rooted in your life. Its associated colour is red.

This wheel of energy is associated with your sense of security, familiar relationships and your feeling of home. When balanced in the first chakra, you feel firmly grounded in yourself and the world around you.
